(07/7/24) We are thrilled to announce that the Anak Alam Eco Bricks Market Event is scheduled for this August. This event promises to be an inspiring and educational experience for all attendees, especially for those in West Sumbawa.
Our mission is to promote eco-friendly practices by showcasing innovative products made from eco bricks. These environmentally friendly building materials are created from recycled plastic bottles filled with non-biodegradable waste, offering a creative solution to plastic pollution.
We are really happy to be a small part of the process of working with local children and educating them about the importance of the environment.
(28/6/24) The second quarter of the year has been an exciting and productive period for the Anak Alam Eco Heroes Program. With a growing interest in environmental stewardship, we welcomed 16 students into our program. One of the standout achievements this quarter has been the collection of 63 eco-bricks. This significant milestone not only reflects the students’ dedication but also underscores the impact of our educational efforts.
As looking ahead to the next quarter, They are excited to announce several ambitious projects that will continue to foster our students’ growth and commitment to the environment. First on the agenda is the garden project. This initiative will teach students about organic farming, biodiversity, and the benefits of green spaces. They will have the opportunity to design, plant, and maintain their own gardens, promoting a deeper connection to nature.

(14/6/24) Eco bricks offer a revolutionary solution to plastic waste by turning non-biodegradable materials into reusable building blocks. Anak Alam Learning House in Sumbawa, Indonesia, incorporates eco bricks into their curriculum, teaching children about waste reduction and engaging them in sustainable practices. Students learn to create eco bricks by packing clean, dry plastic waste into bottles, reducing environmental plastic and providing resources for construction projects. This hands-on process fosters responsibility and pride in the children. The eco bricks they create are used in building projects, gardens, and communal facilities, showcasing the benefits of sustainable practices.
EO Foundation is partnering with Anak Alam to organize an Eco Bricks Market in Sumbawa, highlighting the creative and practical uses of eco bricks and engaging the community in sustainability.
Once we really understand this we are going to try and extend this to other parts of Sumbawa and work out a way to use these to build things for our clients.
(24/5/24) Anak Alam Learning House is an education center in the rural heart of Sumbawa. Responding to the needs of our local community's children, its programs focus on ecosystem-centered education. They emphasize the core values of Earth Care, People Care, and Fair Shares. The curriculum teaches children about the importance of their environment, extending from their families and communities to the planet and animals that sustain our livelihoods. At Anak Alam, children are encouraged to explore and understand their environment, fostering a sense of responsibility and care for the planet.
Additionally, they strive to spread the ethics of permaculture—People Care, Earth Care, and Fair Share—through community building and education. To continue this great program, EO Foundation collaborates with Anak Alam to support this initiative and help expand it.
This is the first step for us, and we are learning just like the children. But we hope it is the start of a long partnership that we can expand to other areas of Indonesia.
(10/5/24) The EO foundation is our new direction that we are taking to give something back to the island we love so much. This is going to be something that evolves over time but initially our primary focus is going to be on helping the youth of Sumbawa. We believe in the power of education and its life long benefits so we are starting with a sponsorship of the Anak Alam Learning House.
This is an after school program for 30+ children that focusses on learning through fun and starting them off in the English language. We are going to pay for this program in full and record the progress and results.
